Warm gooey mush. That even the dog wouldn’t eat.
The last few days have been just awesome. On Christmas, i got money from dad (Thoughtful gift, i know, but it was well needed, so i’m happy ^^), and mom went to Wal-Mart and got some things for us–I got memory for my mp3 player, but it needs to be returned because for some reason it won’t read it. Not sure whether it’s the memory or the player that’s the problem. The day after, i spent playing video games, monday Austin came over and Kevin invited me to join him and a few others to play pool, but I turned him down to try to hang out with Paula. I failed on monday, but today…
This morning five potatoes mysteriously dissapeared from the kitchen, as long as we agree that “mysteriously dissapeared” means “At Adrian’s hands, turned into a warm gooey mush that didn’t look anything like hash browns and even the dog wouldn’t eat”, but Aniel made waffles and eggs, so breakfast was good anyway. I did laundry, and then, this evening (AKA, one of the best dates ever):
She came to my house at around 3:30, we decided to see A Series of Unfortunate Events at 4:45. Until then, we just hung out and talked and made relative fools of ourselves, but it was cool ^^ (hold on, it gets better!) At the movie, we were less than an hour into it when suddenly it died, and emergency lights came on.
The power pretty much everywhere on 101A and down South Merrimack had gone out.
We were given free slips to go back to the theater another time, and we decided to come back to my house, but here’s a cool thing: the street lights were out. Now, I thought that traffic lights must surely be on backup generators of some kind so that they don’t stop working–matter of public safety and all that. No such luck, they were dead. ::Shrugs:: a man with a flashlight got out of the van in front of us and stopped traffic so we could leave. It was cool. Then once here, about fifteen minutes later, the power came back on. I do believe the world, or maybe just PSNH–and also possibly heat–is against us. But that’s ok, because of this I ended up with 1.) a reason to spend several hours just hanging out with Paula, and 2.) an excuse for another date sometime soon.
That was cool. But don’t do it again, PSNH. ::scolds::
What I saw of the movie was good.
On a side note (Or maybe a secondary main one), Happy Birthday, Josh, hope you’ve been enjoying your vacation thus far.

^_^
Here’s the way the Suds handle Christmas:
Firstly, our family’s christmas tradition in polish, through and through (duh, Christmas + India != traditional, where Christmas + Poland = Tradition * 12), which means several things: first, we celebrate christmas eve, not christmas day. The way mom explained that to us when we were kids was that on christmas day the baby was born, so you have to stay quiet.
In years past, we’ve gone up to Summit Hill, PA to visit with our Pra-Babci. For those of you who don’t remember, she died not too long ago, at nearly a century old. Anyway, there would be tons of family up there, all gathered at her house, and there would be food (lots of food), presents, candy, and Santa, but mostly food. Always a good thing ::pats stomach::. A few years ago, we stopped doing that because Aunt Janice (Pra-Babci’s caretaker), was starting to not be able to handle it. This year, we decided to do it all, all the old stuff, right here in our home.
That means thirty people were here. No less. Possibly a few more.
Dinner was huge, and there are tons of leftovers.
Desert–i’m not even going to talk about desert. (but it was delicious, and also has leftovers)
Then came Santa. There were candy canes all around, and presents for everyone under the age of 15. After that, there was the giant family yankee swap, which was so awesome. Here’s what we had to do: pick something that reminds you of family, under $15 (not strict though). Then wrap into it a card explaining why it reminds you of family. I picked a set of precision screwdrivers, my card explaining that if it weren’t for Aniel’s obsession and my obnoxious need to ask him questions, i wouldn’t be a comp-sci major today. One of the twins gave a fishing rod, explaining a memory of fishing with Uncle Joe. Aniel bought a tonka truck, which got a rise out of all four of us and Reese and Austin.
Oh man, it was so cool. I ended up getting “Animal House” on DVD ::shrugs:: but it’s not what gift i got that matters, it’s the memories i got to hear, share, and create.
I loved this christmas eve.
P.S. Sorry for abandoning you, Paja, i got stuck downstairs saying goodbye to Uncle Joe for like 45 minutes ^^;; You left like ten minutes before I got back, eheh.

A romp through the wreck that is my room
it’s been a great vacation thus far. I’ve mostly moved back into my room, though it’s still a wreck, and the first floor of this house looks more beautiful than i can ever remember it being. Tomorrow some thirty people will be here for christmas eve celebration.
it’s a polish thing.
One of them is Vanessa Raymond, a girl i’ve known since we were both really little, and she goes to… either Smith or Amherst College… but she runs a radio show on UMass’ campus at around 8am, i think. I stopped by once, and she gave me her phone number and email address, but i lost them. I’ll have to get them back. And appologize profusely.
Another person i’ve got to appologize profusely to for being a flake. I am, a little. I forget things, i lose track of time, i’m typing an LJ at 3am when dad told me to sleep an hour ago. I’m not really the absolute most organized in the world. “Yeah, i’m crazy, but i get the job done”. That was a little ben folds for you all. I got to see Kevin Mook, Kong, and Alex Bryant, for the first time in three months. It was quite awesome. For those of you not from around here, they were with my graduating class at my high school, and very close friends of mine. Also, Heather and Elizabeth joined us. Every last one of us was or is a member of the school’s FIRST robotics team, so it was really amazing. Heather was the only one who wasn’t there last year tho :P. There isn’t a smiley that has a “sticking tongue out semi humorously”, but still communicates the dry, ambiguous detatchment which i would say is really my absolute current mood. It’s not a bad mood, just… ambiguously detatched. And dry.
I read some more of “House“, and it just keeps getting better. I really need to clear out the trash from my room and… well… throw everything away. I’ve got stuff in here from when we moved in… 18 years worth of legos and star wars action figures, books, magic cards, my coin collection (which actually started just 6 years back), my computer equipment (of which there is much), my swords, the keyboard, guitars, and trading cards for basketball, baseball, and a myriad other sports that i inherited–i’ve got a Larry Bird Rookie All Star Card. I was proud of that one. And I don’t even remember all the rules to basketball.
I was wrong about packing my entire life. That would take this whole bedroom.
Maybe I shouldn’t throw anything out after all. Maybe just a little rearranging, help get the dust off my old things. “i’m thinking I should take that volume back up off the shelf, and crack its weary spine and read to help remind myself.” There’s some Death Cab. I’ve covered all my bases, goodnight.
