I give up on linux…

because my time is actually worth something to me.

I don’t feel like spending so many hours tracking thread to thread across a universe of crappy support forums trying to find one thing: How do I get the damned thing on my wireless lan? I found countless threads, each asking essentially my problem, and each answer was more incomprehensible than the last. Guys, guys, if I wanted an operating system where I had to put in 50 lines of code directly to get anything done, I’d just write my own.

Open Source software has very much dissapointed me of late. Good coding is not done so that you can use it, good coding is done so that any idiot and his mule can sit down and look at it and say, “Oh, I get it.” Take Windows XP. When I picked it up, do you think I wanted to pore over their tome of a users’ guide? Hell no. I turned it on and started clicking things. And immediately saw results, because–Oh yeah! It’s designed for ME. The user. Mac OS X, I don’t even own one and I’m already feeling more and more comfortable in the environment by just using it at work for about 5 minutes or so every now and again. Why? Because–OH YES, it’s designed with ME in mind.

I want software made for me. I think most people do.

You lackeys with your assinine “Oh, but Linux is so much better, you can get right down into your system” can go use it then, but my time is actually important to me, and I’ve got better things to do than dick around with your crappy support forums and useless wikis.

(on the plus side, installing ubuntu was a snap, it’s doing anything with it now that it’s there that sucks)

According to my 2005 textbook, the man is in still in prison, but is seeking parole on the grounds that his schizophrenia is no longer an issue.

My question to you: If a man thus were to feel cured of his psychological issues after almost 40 years since his crime; would you permit him to go free?
